Adverse Weather Monitoring/Safety Procedure (Inflatable Jumping Castles)
Purpose
To establish guidelines on how to handle the event of adverse weather in order to protect participants bystanders and staff.
Policy Statement
In the Interests of safety and welfare of participants, bystanders and staff, Get Lit Event Rentals reserves the right to cancel event activities due to adverse weather prior to or during activities.
Monitoring Adverse Weather
Get Lit Event Rentals staff use Wind.willyweather.com.au and BOM apps to monitor and forecast all weather, 24 hours prior to the supply of any jumping castle in the event there is Adverse weather forecast for the event period, Get Lit Event Rentals will contact the client to advise the event will be cancelled or rescheduled at a later date. Monitoring weather on the day of the event is continuously performed by the rostered staff, monitoring begins 1 hour prior to delivery and is continually monitored every 30 minutes during the event.
Adverse Weather Types
The below adverse weather conditions will implement the cancelation or evacuation of an event.
(a) winds over 30kph
(b) Rain
(c) Lightning
(d) Thunderstorms
In The Event of Unexpected Adverse Weather
All Events must be supervised by a persons of at least 18 years of age, the supervisor of the event must be contactable by mobile phone at all times, Get Lit Event Rentals Rostered staff on the day of the event is responsible for continually monitoring weather conditions, If the situation occurs that adverse weather unexpectedly occurs during the event Get Lit Rent Rentals will Contact the event Supervisor and advise them to evacuate the event immediately. A safety guide is supplied to all event supervisors with instructions of the immediate evacuation process, the site supervisor is advised to implement this process at any point that there is concern for the safety.
Immediate Evacuation Process
(a) evacuate all participants from the device
(b) Turn off all power, disconnect and remove to a secure dry area
(c) Undo inflatable zippers to assist with deflation
